Object Storage billing has four non-obvious behaviors that complicate cost prediction: 64KB minimum billing per object (penalizes small files), empty active buckets still charged hourly, unused quota does not roll over month-to-month, and TB-hours metering that makes long-lived storage more expensive than equivalent monthly averages suggest.
